    Dear Dave,

Your blog is wonderful. I especially like your post on SLC and would welome the opportunity to meet if you’re ever visiting. You may be interested in my new book, Good Urbanism. This book describes a paradigm shift currently underway from focusing on deficits and objects to assets and systems, fostering a felicitous turn in urban design, placemaking, and community building. Illustrated with 10 case studies, it offers a clear path for accelerating this shift in our own practices composed of 6 steps: Prospect, Polish, Propose, Prototype, Promote, and Present. Professor Ellin,

Sorry it has taken me this long to respond. My wife and I just had a baby, and my blog has been put on the back burner a bit until we are able to set up more of a routine. I saw your presentation a few years ago at Penn on the opportunities presented by Phoenix’s canals, I thought it was very interesting. I’ll take a look at your new book and put together a review in a little while. Thanks for your comments, and be sure to let Michael Larice know that I said hello.
