Kent Larson: Brilliant designs to fit more people in every city | Video on TED.com

In this interesting TED talk, Kent Larson discusses the themes of sharing and technology in the city. He talks about the importance of bike and car sharing in the city and how much land that can open up rather than having everyone use their own car and have a designated spot for it. In addition, his team is working on designing folding cars that take up less space when parked and can be semi-autonomous, so you can have them drop you off at the door and they find their own parking spot. He also discusses how we can use technology to basically create super-Murphy apartments where walls can be rearranged and furniture stored in walls to create different spaces for different occasions. Finally, he says that we need more shared work- and play-space, from places with tables for groups to work at and shared workshops to gyms and parks. A really interesting talk about how technology can change our future.
