Limited Urban Space Inspires Versatile, Completely Adjustable Apartments – PSFK

It’s been a long time since I’ve done an architecture post, but when I saw this, it seemed right to come back to the subject. Ever since I covered Kent Larson’s TED talk on technologies to make a more efficient city, I’ve been looking into everything Murphy (despite my general lack of handyman skills, I was even thinking about trying to build a Murphy bed). although I’ve been interested in these sort for things for a long time, the interest has been intensified ever since Holly and I moved into a smaller place. The video above, as well as this one and many others, show how fold-away furniture and other features can make a small space work more efficiently. As more people want to live in cities and affordable housing is at a premium, apartment dwellers could do well to apply these lessons.
